All Hobie kayaks are manufactured from top quality, linear polyethylene. The high-tech rotomold process used by Hobie, controls the thickness of the hull to enable variation where it is needed. High strength cockpit rails produce hull stiffness and provide a solid carrying surface when transporting. No fancy carrying cradles required...just slide on upside-down and tie securely onto two roof bars.

The Hobie plug in cart system makes moving the assembled boat to the water a real breeze. Take her off the car, sit her on the wheels and load her up. Pick up the front carry handle and tow the counter-balanced load to the water and roll it right in! Pull the wheels out from underneath and stow them in the kayak so that you don't even have to return to the car. The lightweight, all-stainless frame is made to last years in the marine environment. Upon returning, install the wheels while the kayak is floating in the shallows and walk the whole thing back up to the car. It couldn't be easier.

Sealed, molded-in rod holders and cockpit mesh pockets are all possible with the Hobie molding process.

Smooth underwater hull shapes make for easy gliding and texture finish on deck surfaces give grip where it is needed.

Stability and comfort are high priorities for the Hobie design team. No sitting in puddles and wearing wetsuits waiting for the inevitable dunking, for the Hobie yakker.

High-backed seats and ergonomically designed seat well, afford comfortable seating at rest.

Performance is important for a company that has devoted a lifetime to sailboat racing. Our kayaks also produce good speed for energy expended. Some say that the patented mirage drive is a little too easy at a steady cruising pace.

When you take a close look at any Hobie kayak, you can see the quality. Twist and seal hatches, recessed fittings, heavy duty carry handles screwed into brass inserts ensure years of reliable service and of course great re-sale value.

The twist and stow rudder which is foot operated on the Hobie Quest and hand controlled on Mirage models is a robust yet efficient accessory. Dyneema control cords have the strength of wire without the associated rust, fatigue, and wear problems.

Hobie Paddle Series kayaks are available in four colours.

The Lanai is the baby of the family. It has surprising capacity and stability, yet it paddles well. For this reason Riverlife chose to equip their Brisbane River adventure centre with a fleet of Hobie Lanais

The Maui suits the paddler who is looking for more performance with easy to manage lightweight handling.

The Quest is sometimes overlooked because it lives in the shadow of the mighty Mirage series kayaks. A very well equipped and priced yak, the Quest is becoming the choice for the discerning paddler who wants performance as well as comfort and features. The optional twist and stow rudder completes the paddlers wish list. Beginners need not be afraid of this thoroughbred which despite its advanced features is very user-friendly.

The Odyssey and Kona are two seaters with a difference. An optional third seat can be fitted for a "littlie" or a single seat can be fitted in the central position for controlled single paddling.

The Kona has exceptional stability for easy access and level rails for easy handling off the water.

The Odyssey, with a low wetted surface area and streamlined profile shows a surprising turn of speed, even with novice paddlers aboard.

Hobie Mirage Pedal Series

Do they really work?....You betcha they do!!!

Anyone can propel a Hobie Mirage kayak. The adjustable seat and pedal arms cater for all sizes. Because our leg muscles are generally stronger than our upper body ones, most people find the Mirage drive easy to operate and as fast as paddling without the accompanying early onset of fatigue.

Yes the fins protrude below the hull......BUT you can travel in shallow water by simply altering your leg action to flutter the fins against the bottom of the hull.

Three fin sizes are now available to allow you to choose the load that most suits you.

Original fins are like riding a bike in low gear. ST Turbo fins increase the cruising speed with more effort. The new ST fin is in-between.

If you like to go fast, pedalling or paddling, check out the Mirage Adventure and Mirage Revolution models. Sleek and streamlined, both of these speedsters take the rough stuff in their stride.

If you prefer to spend your kayaking time fishing, then take a closer look at the Mirage Sport and its bigger brother the Outback. These craft have the storage featues and extra stability to give you the confidence to take your valuable fishing equipment afloat.

The Outfitter is a double version of the Outback. Super stable with plenty of deck storage and rod holders this is the best choice when a two seater is called for.

If you just like to go fast with a friend, then the Oasis is your best bet. Like an Odyssey with pedal drive, the Oasis is quick yet it has a high carrying capacity.

An added bonus with all Hobie Mirage kayaks is the sailing option. By virtue of the rudder system and drive system acting as a centreboard, all Mirage kayaks can be fitted with the optional sail kit. The Adventure model even has provision for a daggerboard!
